SunEdison names John S. Dubel company’s chief restructuring officer

Pittsburgh, May 2 – SunEdison, Inc. appointed John S. Dubel as chief restructuring officer, according to a company news release.

SunEdison said Dubel will report directly to the independent directors of the company’s board and lead SunEdison’s restructuring efforts. He will have sole authority and discretion on behalf of the management of the company on all matters related to the company’s restructuring initiatives.

Dubel's appointment and the terms of his engagement remain subject to the approval of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

According to the release, Dubel is the chief executive officer of restructuring and turnaround services firm Dubel & Associates, LLC. He is also serving on the board and as the liquidating trust manager of the ResCap Liquidating Trust.

Dubel is a past board member and officer of the Association of Insolvency and Reorganization Advisors, a Certified Insolvency and Reorganization Advisor and a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of William and Mary.

SunEdison, a Maryland Heights, Mo., operator of renewable power plants, filed bankruptcy on April 21. The Chapter 11 case number is 16-10992.
