Sun Country Airlines gets requested two-month exclusivity extension

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 2 - Sun Country Airlines' request for an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan was approved, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota.

The court extended the company's exclusive plan-filing period to Feb. 5 from Dec. 4 and the solicitation period to April 6 from Feb. 5.

Previously, Sun Country said it needed the extension to make changes to its operating plan for 2010 and that a letter of interest from a qualified prospective buyer would form the basis of its plan.

Sun Country is a subsidiary of Petters Aviation, LLC owner MN Airline Holding, Inc. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Oct. 6, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-35197.
