Sumner Regional Health Systems granted 95-day exclusivity extension

Pittsburgh, Oct. 20 - Sumner Regional Health Systems received an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of liquidation and to solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Dec. 5 from Aug. 30 and the solicitation period to Feb. 3 from Oct. 29.

Sumner said since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on April 30, it has focused its efforts on marketing and selling substantially of its assets and closing the sale.

The company also said it hopes to have a plan of reorganization confirmed before the end of the year, but extending its exclusive periods by 95 days would help avoid the need for additional requests.

Sumner Regional, a Tennessee health care provider, filed for bankruptcy on April 30. Its Chapter 11 case number is 10-04766.
