Fitch rates Stora Enso BBB-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a long-term issuer default rating of BBB- to Stora Enso Oyj, along with a senior unsecured rating of BBB-.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect the company's successful transformation toward growth businesses while limiting its exposure to the structurally declining paper market, Fitch said.

The focus on renewable solutions for packaging, biomaterials and wood products has delivered both product and geographical diversification, the agency said.

Stora Enso has successfully diversified its dependence on the declining paper sector early by growing into new products, Fitch said.
