By Laura Lutz

Des Moines, April 4 - Stone & Youngberg announced the promotion of Joe Lawwill to head of taxable trading for the firm's institutional taxable fixed-income group.

Lawwill was most recently a managing director of structured products trading and sales, where he expanded the company's reverse convertible note business. He joined Stone & Youngberg in 1996 as a high-yield trader in the institutional taxable fixed-income group.

Before that, Lawwill was an assistant trader of high-yield and convertible bonds at Miller Tabak. He holds a degree in international development finance from American University and a master's of business administration with a concentration in international finance from George Washington University

"Joe has earned the respect of everyone at the firm while demonstrating the integrity, maturity and leadership skills necessary to take this group to an even higher level of success," Jack Turner, a managing director and head of the institutional taxable fixed income group, said in a news release.

Stone & Youngberg is a San Francisco-based private investment bank.
