Avery Resources cancels C$8 million private placement

Atlanta, June 9 - Avery Resources Inc. said it will not proceed with a C$8 million private placement it announced in March.

The company had planned to sell up to 16 million units at C$0.50 each through placement agents Jennings Capital Inc., PowerOne Capital Markets Ltd. and Nash Fitzwilliams Ltd.

Details about the company's decision to cancel the deal could not be obtained by press time Thursday.

Based in Calgary, Alta., Avery is an oil and natural gas exploration company.

On Thursday, the company's stock closed down C$0.015 at C$0.315.
