Fitch reviews Stewart Information

Fitch Ratings said it placed the ratings assigned to Stewart Information Services Corp. and its insurance subsidiaries on rating watch evolving following the announcement that the company is reviewing its strategic options.

Fitch said the watch reflects uncertainty regarding Stewart Information’s strategic direction following the Nov. 7 announcement that its board of directors formed a committee to review all strategic alternatives available to the company, including new business combinations, the sale of the company, or continuing to execute on the company’s standalone business plan. Stewart Information has retained both a financial and legal advisor to assist in the board's review.
