S&P ups State Bank of India outlook to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on State Bank of India (SBI) to positive from stable and affirmed its BB+/B ratings.

This follows the outlook revision on India's sovereign credit ratings (BB+/positive/B) to positive from stable, the agency said.

The outlook revision on SBI reflects its improving stand-alone profile against the backdrop of a stronger operating environment, S&P noted, adding that the ratings on SBI take into consideration the bank's improved financial profile, in particular its loan quality, satisfactory profitability and capitalization.
