Morgan Stanley increases stake to 10.1% in Starwood Hotels

Philadelphia, Nov. 7 - Morgan Stanley increased its investment to 10.1% in Starwood Hotels & Resorts as of Oct. 31, according to an SC 13G/A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

That represents a passive stake of 18,578,849 shares.

Those holdings are up from the passive stake of 6%, or 11,871,555 shares, that Morgan Stanley reported on Dec. 31, 2007, according to a SC 13G/A filing.

The company reported a 5.8% stake, or 12,273,640 shares on Dec. 31, 2007, according to a SC 13G filing.

Starwood is a White Plains, N.Y.-based hotel and leisure company.
