Standish Mellon hires senior sovereign analyst Javier Murcio

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 6 - Standish Mellon Asset Management announced that Javier Murcio has joined its emerging market debt team as a senior sovereign analyst.

Murcio will oversee emerging market research and will report to Alexander Kozhemiakin, director of emerging market strategies. He has 25 years of experience in emerging markets, with an emphasis on Latin America. He directed research teams at Credit Suisse First Boston and Paribas.

Murcio has a master's degree in economics from Boston University and received a bachelor's degree from the National University in Mexico City.

"We are fortunate to have Javier Murcio join our emerging market debt team," Kozhemiakin said in a press release. "His extraordinary wealth of experience in the emerging markets and unique insights will provide valuable input into our investment process which is built on in-depth fundamental research."

Standish Mellon Asset Management is an investment subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon Corp., a financial services firm based in New York.
