Former Schutt Sports receives three-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Feb. 11 - SSI Liquidating, Inc., formerly Schutt Sports, Inc., obtained an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and to solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to April 4 from Jan. 4 and the solicitation period to June 3 from March 5.

According to Friday's filing, competitor Riddell, Inc. has withdrawn its objection to the exclusivity extension.

Riddell filed its objection in early January, arguing that the motion contradicted post-asset sale statements made by SSI's counsel.

Schutt, a Litchfield, Ill.-based sports equipment manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 6. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-12795.
