Former Spheris granted 90-day extension to file plan, solicit votes

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., June 14 - SP Wind Down Inc., formerly Spheris Inc., was granted a 90-day extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The court extended SP Wind Down's exclusive filing period to Sept. 1 from June 3 and the solicitation period to Nov. 1 from Aug. 2, the filing said.

SP Wind Down said it needed more time to formulate a consensual plan.

Spheris is a Franklin, Tenn.-based outsource provider of clinical documentation technology and services to health systems, hospitals and group medical practices throughout the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 3. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-10352.
