Charlotte, N.C., May 4 - Spheris Inc.'s request to change its name to SP Wind Down Inc. was approved, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The court also approved changing the name of Spheris Canada Inc. to SP Wind Down Canada Inc.; Spheris Leasing LLC to SP Wind Down Leasing LLC; Spheris Operations LLC to SP Wind Down Operations LLC; and Vianeta Communications to VN Wind Down Communications, the filings said.

As previously reported, on April 15 the court approved the sale of Spheris' assets to stalking horse bidder MedQuist Inc. and CBay Inc. for $116,333,900, including cash consideration of $98,833,900.

Spheris is a Franklin, Tenn.-based outsource provider of clinical documentation technology and services to health systems, hospitals and group medical practices throughout the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 3. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-10352.
