GS Finance plans leveraged buffered notes linked to index basket

Olympia, Wash., March 12 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes due March 25, 2021 linked to a basket of indexes, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

The basket consists of the S&P MidCap 400 index with a 60% weight and the Russell 2000 index with a 40% weight.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 2 times any basket gain, capped at $1,218 for each $1,000 face amount of notes.

Investors will receive par if the basket falls by up to 10% and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond 10%.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.

The notes will price on March 22.

The Cusip number is 40056F3M5.
