S&P rates ACE INA notes A-

Standard & Poor's said that it assigned ACE INA Holdings Inc.'s $700 million of 2.6% senior notes due 2015 an A- senior debt rating.

The rating reflects the company's strong competitive position and operating performance, strong capitalization, conservative investment portfolio and very strong liquidity, S&P said.

The rating also considers the company's moderate amount of reinsurance recoverables, runoff reserves and intangibles on its balance sheet; its high reinsurance utilization; and its changing and increasing risk profile into new business lines and geographic locations, the agency said.
