Loeb buys shares of Spear & Jackson, reports 8.68% stake

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 22 - Investors led by Loeb Partners Corp. purchased 106,106 shares of Spear & Jackson, Inc.'s stock between Aug. 13 and Aug. 21. The shares were priced between $1.92 and $1.93 each, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The reporting persons own 498,001 shares, or 8.68%, of the Sheffield, England-based premium tool manufacturer.

According to the filing, Loeb and its affiliates acquired the shares as an investment. Loeb intends to review its investment in Spear & Jackson and may engage in discussions with the company's management or board of directors about the business, including the company's plans.
