S&P Dow Jones launches real estate, financial services sector indexes

Norfolk, Va., Sept. 2 – S&P Dow Jones Indices announced the launch of the Real Estate Select Sector index and the Financial Services Select Sector index, according to a press release.

This broadens S&P Dow Jones’ family of select sector indexes to 11 from nine.

Both indexes have been licensed to State Street Global Advisors to serve as the basis for exchange-traded funds.

S&P Dow Jones Indices is a part of McGraw Hill Financial and provides index-based concepts, data and research.
