HSBC USA plans to price 15-month AMPS linked to S&P 500 index

New York, Nov. 2 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% Accelerated Market Participation Securities due Feb. 27, 2012 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to an FWP with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus triple any index gain, up to a maximum return of 15% to 19%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
Investors will share in any losses.
The notes (Cusip: 4042K07J8) will price on Nov. 22 and settle on Nov. 26.
