Southwestern Energy files $600 million shelf

Washington, July 26 - Southwestern Energy Co. filed a $600 million shelf in an S-3 registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The shelf allows the company to issue common stock and debt securities. The securities may be issued as convertibles.

The Houston-based energy firm said offerings authorized by the shelf would be used for general corporate purposes.
