Southwest Gas files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 23 - Southwest Gas Corp. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers common stock, preferred stock, preference stock, debt securities, depositary shares, warrants and units.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Southwest Gas is a natural gas company in Las Vegas.
