Moody's: Energy Transfer statement won't affect entities

Moody's Investors Service said that Energy Transfer Equity, LP's announcement that it will contribute its interest in Southern Union Co. to a newly formed entity (ETP Holdco Corp.) controlled by Energy Transfer Partners, LP, which will also hold Sunoco, Inc. following the closing of its acquisition by Energy Transfer Partners, will not currently affect the ratings of the involved entities.

However, certain aspects of this structural reconfiguration are modestly accretive to the credit of Energy Transfer Partners and Southern Union, the agency said.
