Southern Montana granted continuation, hearing reset for April 15

By Kali Hays

New York, Feb. 21 - Southern Montana Electric Generation and Transmission Cooperative, Inc. has been granted a continuation for a disclosure statement hearing that was scheduled for Feb. 25, according to an order filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Montana.

The hearing has been reset for April 15.

The company asked for the additional time to "finalize ongoing settlement negotiations" that litigation would distract from, the continuation motion stated.

Southern Montana filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 21, 2011. The Billings, Mont.-based cooperative's Chapter 11 case number is 11-62031.
