Southern Co. to redeem all $800 million $25-par 5.25% notes due 2076

Lexington, Ky., Sept. 16 – Southern Co. has announced plans to redeem in full $800 million of its series 2016A 5.25% junior subordinated notes due Oct. 1, 2076 on Oct. 18, according to a company release.

The $25-par notes will be redeemed at par plus interest.

The quarterly interest payment due Oct. 1 will be paid to noteholders of record as of Sept. 30.

Wells Fargo Bank, NA is the paying agent.

The notes trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “SOJB.”

Southern Co. is an Atlanta-based gas and electric utility holding company.
