Southern Air operating loss widens to $19.28 million for December

Wilmington, Del., Feb. 14 - Southern Air Holdings, Inc. posted a $19.28 million operating loss for December on revenue of $25.74 million, according to the company's monthly operating report filed Feb. 14 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Those figures compare to a $1.96 million operating loss for November on revenue of $25.62 million.

The net loss in December was $14.19 million, up from $7.18 million in November.

The company also reported cash and cash equivalents of $7.38 million as of Dec. 31, up from $3.95 million at the end of November.

Southern Air, a Norwalk, Conn.-based cargo carrier, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 28 under Chapter 11 case number 12-12690.
