Southaven Power exclusive plan-filing period extended to April 14

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Jan. 10 - Southaven Power LLC was granted an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina.

Specifically, the company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to April 14 from Jan. 15 and the solicitation period to June 16, 2008 from March 17.

According to the motion, Southaven Power cannot accurately project the amount of assets that will be available for distribution until it knows how much it will receive under an ET Power claim settlement or from the sale of its plant.

Southaven Power is an energy and transportation company based in Southaven, Miss. It filed for bankruptcy on May 20, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-32141.
