SourceForge investors may seek to influence management

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 21 - SourceForge Inc. investors Mark Nelson and Dana Johnson acquired their shares of the company's stock as an investment. However, the reporting persons may seek to influence the management and policies of SourceForge.

The company has declined to discuss Nelson's views concerning SourceForge's management, according to a schedule 13D filing of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Nelson plans to work with SourceForge and its representatives "in a constructive fashion to maximize stockholder values" and "reserves the right to take whatever action may be necessary to accomplish this goal," the filing stated.

The reporting persons beneficially own 3,818,334 shares, or 5.6%, of the Mountain View, Calif.-based company.

SourceForge owns and operates a network of media web sites serving IT professionals.
