Sound Shore Medical seeks third exclusivity extension for negotiations

New York, April 3 - Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester requested a third extension of its exclusive plan of reorganization filing and acceptance periods, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company asked that its exclusive filing period be extended through June 23 from April 24 and its acceptance period through Aug. 22 from June 23.

The company cited ongoing plan negotiations with committee counsel regarding closing conditions on the company's asset sale as cause for the extension, according to the filing

Sound Shore, a New Rochelle, N.Y., medical center, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 29, 2013. Its Chapter 11 case number is 13-22840.
