Janus Capital slashes stake to 3.3% in Sotheby's

Philadelphia, Jan. 13 - Janus Capital Management LLC slashed by more than half its investment in Sotheby's as of Dec. 31, 2008, according to an SC 13G/A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Janus reported a passive stake of 3.3%, or 2,241,748 shares.
Those holdings are down from the passive stake of 10%, or 6,764,685 shares, that the investor reported owning on June 30, 2008, according to an SC 13G filing.
New York-based Sotheby's is an art auction and art-related financing company.
