Sonic Solutions files $50 million shelf covering preferreds and stock

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 10 - Sonic Solutions filed a $50 million shelf registration in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers common stock, preferred stock and warrants.

The preferreds may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for research and development, expanding manufacturing and customer service, development of additional products and services and other working capital and general corporate purposes.

Based in Novato, Calif., Sonic Solutions designs and manufactures DVD publishing systems.
