New Issue: Chile's SQM places $173 million equivalent of bonds in two series

Chicago, Jan. 13 - Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile SA said it placed $173 million equivalent of two series of bonds in the Chilean market.

The company issued 21 million Chilean pesos of series G non-callable five-year bonds at a reoffer yield of 7.5% in Chilean pesos.

The company issued UF 4 million of series H bonds with a 21-years term and a 10-year grace period at a reoffer yield of 5.05% in UFs.

Proceeds will be used to refinance short- and long-term debt and to fund its capital expenditures program.

The Santiago, Chile-based company produces specialty fertilizers, iodine and lithium.
