SEI makes investment strategy, portfolio management changes

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Dec. 19 - SEI Institutional Investments Trust announced a portfolio management change for its Small Cap Fund and an investment strategy change to its U.S. Managed Volatility Fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Kenneth A. Korngiebel, chief investment officer and lead portfolio manager of TW Asset Management LLC's Growth Portfolios, has been added as a portfolio manager to the Small Cap Fund.

SEI also said it has amended its principal investment strategy for the U.S. Managed Volatility Fund so that now, under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities of U.S. companies of all capitalization ranges, including common stocks, preferred stocks, exchange-traded funds and warrants. To a less extent, the fund may also invest in American Depositary Receipts and securities of non-U.S. companies.

Previously, there was no minimum level of investment in these types of securities.

The funds' adviser is Oaks, Pa.-based SEI Investments Management Corp.
