Moody’s keeps Slovenia banking system stable

Moody's Investors Service said it maintained its stable outlook on Slovenia’s banking system, reflecting the agency's expectation of continued economic growth, which will benefit loan quality and drive moderate profitability.

The outlook expresses Moody's expectation of how bank creditworthiness will evolve in Slovenia over the next 12 to 18 months.

"We expect loan quality to improve as the growing economy balances the pressures from still high corporate indebtedness," Moody’s senior analyst, vice president Armen L. Dallakyan said in a news release.

"We forecast nonperforming loans to average about 13% of total bank lending by year-end 2016, down from 15.4% at year-end 2015."
