SkyePharma opens data room for bidders, has possible buyers for all or part of company

New York, Dec. 8 - SkyePharma plc said it will allow potential bidders for all or part of the company access to a data room so that they can begin due diligence.

"A number" of expressions of interest have been received, SkyePharma said in a news release. Some are for individual assets, and there are potential cash offers for the entire company.

Last month SkyePharma said its board had decided to review all of its strategic options, including, among other things, offers for the company as a whole following a recent unsolicited approach from a third party.

It appointed Lehman Brothers as financial adviser for the review.

London-based SkyePharma uses drug-delivery technology to facilitate drug formulation.
