Sirius Satellite Radio files $500 million shelf

Washington, Aug. 4 - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. filed a $500 million shelf registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The S-3 filing allows the company to issue common and preferred stock, debt securities and warrants. Securities may also be issued as convertibles.

The New York-based satellite radio firm said offerings authorized by the shelf would be used for general corporate purposes.
