Sino-Forest co-founder, president Poon no longer employed by company

Pittsburgh, Oct. 9 - Sino-Forest Corp. said co-founder and president Kai Kit Poon is no longer employed by the company.

According to a company news release, Poon also served a Sino-Forest director until 2009. Since then, he was mainly a liaison with various People's Republic of China provincial government authorities.

In connection with the cessation of his employment, the company said that Poon is no longer the president of Sino-Forest and no longer holds positions in some of the company's subsidiaries.

Toronto-based Sino-Forest is a commercial forest plantation operator in China.
