Sinclair bought back $15.4 million of subsidiary's 8% notes in first quarter

New York, May 9 - Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. repurchased $15.4 million face value of Sinclair Television Group's 8% senior subordinated notes due 2011 during the first quarter, according to a 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Baltimore-based television broadcaster said it completed the transactions on the open market, adding that it may purchase additional 8% notes from time to time.

Sinclair said that $248 million of notes remains outstanding.
