Silicon Graphics obtains exclusivity extension to finalize exit strategy

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Eugene, Ore., Aug. 30 - Silicon Graphics, Inc. obtained an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company's exclusive plan filing period was extended to Dec. 29 from Sept. 5 and the solicitation period to Feb. 28 from Nov. 4.

When requesting the extension, Silicon Graphics said that although its disclosure statement has already been approved, the company requires additional time to complete and implement its exit strategy.

Silicon Graphics, a Mountain View, Calif., technology provider, filed for bankruptcy on May 29. The company's Chapter 11 case number is 06-10977.
