SIGA Technologies issues $1 million 8% note to PharmAthene

New York, April 20 - SIGA Technologies, Inc. said it issued the second of three 8% notes to PharmAthene, Inc. as part of its bridge note purchase agreement, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The $1 million note will be payable on the earliest of April 19, 2008 - the maturity date - the closing of a qualified financing or a sale event, as defined under the agreement.

The New York biotechnology company is focused on using viral and bacterial genomics for the development of treatments for infectious diseases.
