Sidley Austin hires Boren and Howell for global finance, M&A practices

Morgantown, W.Va., Feb. 29 – Sidley Austin LLP announced that Alison Boren and William Howell have joined the firm’s global finance, private equity and M&A practices as partners in its Dallas office. Boren and Howell have extensive experience in capital markets transactions, financing transactions and restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and securities, according to a press release.

Boren is experienced in handling high-yield debt and bridge financing, Rule 144A offerings, investment-grade bonds, margin financing, private equity and mezzanine financing, private placements, acquisition and leveraged recapitalization facilities, project financing, commercial bank credit facilities, asset-based financing, debtor-in-possession financing, letter-of-credit facilities and commodities, interest rate and currency derivatives.

Her industry-specific experience includes electric power, REITs, oil and gas, technology, media and communications, master limited partnerships, chemicals, mining and minerals, manufacturing, real estate and construction and hospitality.

Howell maintains a general corporate practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and securities matters.

He has experience representing clients from multiple industries, including energy, technology, telecommunications, retail and hospitality in complex mergers and acquisitions, tender offers involving publicly traded entities, strategic alliances and joint ventures.

Howell also counsels issuers and investment banking firms in corporate finance transactions, including initial public offerings, registered offerings of debt securities, venture capital investments and financings with institutional lenders.
