Moody's: Shinhan notes A1

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A1 rating to Shinhan Bank's proposed benchmark-sized dollar-denominated senior unsecured drawdown under its $6 billion global medium-term note program.

The outlook is stable.

The rating reflects Shinhan Bank's leading position as Korea's third largest bank, Moody's said.

The bank enjoys modest financial health with a long-term scale rating of Baa1, the agency said.

The rating also considers the bank's strong banking franchise, relatively healthy financial fundamentals, including consistent profitability through economic cycles and its focused and well-defined strategy, Moody's added.
