Moody's rates Shinhan Bank draw A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to Shinhan Bank's proposed benchmark-sized dollar-denominated senior unsecured drawdown due September 2015 under its $6 billion global medium-term note program.

The outlook is stable.

The rating is subject to receipt of final documents.

The rating reflects the bank's leading position as Korea's third largest bank and its medium enterprises banking franchise, Moody's said.

The bank also enjoys modest financial health, as indicated by its C- bank financial strength rating, the agency said.
