San Diego, April 27 - Shenkman Capital Management, Inc. has hired Justin W. Slatky as senior vice president and portfolio manager, according to a press release.

Slatky brings 12 years of investing experience in high-yield and distressed securities to Shenkman. He joins the firm from Goldman Sachs, where he was co-head and managing director of the distressed bond business in New York and London. He also worked as a high-yield analyst for Credit Suisse First Boston.

Slatky received his bachelor's degree in economics and master's degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania.

"We are thrilled to have Justin join the Shenkman Capital team," Mark Shenkman, president and chief investment officer, said in a press release. "Justin brings a wealth of experience and insight from the high-yield and distressed markets.

"Justin's analytical skills and market knowledge are second to none and will serve our clients well. His background and leadership will help propel the firm into additional, related areas of investment management in the credit arena."

The independent investment management organization is based in New York.
