Shearman & Sterling adds Rockwell, Chernick to leveraged finance team

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 18 – Shearman & Sterling said it hired Alan Rockwell and Michael Chernick in New York.

“The hires reflect the firm’s continuing commitment to strengthen its position as one of the preeminent firms in leveraged finance with talent across both New York and London,” the firm said in a news release.

Rockwell and Chernick’s hires follow Ward McKimm’s appointment last year in London.

“The opportunity to add Alan and Michael to our team is significant for the firm as we look to further cement our position as one of the leading transatlantic leveraged finance firms,” David Beveridge, senior partner at Shearman & Sterling, said in the release.

The New York-based law firm specializes in major corporations, financial institutions and government entities.
