Buffalo, N.Y., July 6 – Shearman & Sterling appointed Jonathan Lewis as counsel within the capital markets practice in Brazil, according to a Tuesday news release.

Lewis brings a wide range of experience in matters of corporate transactions, including public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, mergers and acquisitions, bank and related financings, liability management and restructurings.

“We have worked across from Jonathan for years on numerous transactions and know we will be able to go forward together to further enhance our leading Brazil and Latin America practice,” said Roberta Cherman, head of the São Paulo office.

Headquarters for the law firm are in New York.
