SGL Carbon to start roadshow early next week for €300 million eight-year notes

By Paul A. Harris

St. Louis, Jan. 15 - SGL Carbon Finance SA will start a roadshow early in the week of Jan. 19 in Europe for €300 million of senior notes due 2012, market sources said.

A U.S. roadshow is expected to begin later in the same week, with pricing expected to take place on Jan. 26.

Credit Suisse First Boston and Deutsche Bank Securities are joint bookrunners.

The notes are expected to come with four years of call protection.

Proceeds will be used to repay bank debt, redeem convertible notes, and to pay an antitrust fine.

The Wiesbaden, Germany-based producer of carbon and graphite products, including graphite electrodes, also plans to obtain a €330 million six-year syndicated loan.
