Moody's rates Senegal bonds B1

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned B1 foreign- and local-currency government bond ratings to Senegal.

The outlook is stable.

Additionally, Moody's assigned A2 foreign- and domestic-currency country ceilings to Senegal, which are explicitly the regional ceilings for the Western African Economic and Monetary Union of which Senegal is a member.

Moody's also assigned A2 country ceilings for foreign- and domestic-currency deposits to Senegal.

The ratings consider Senegal's low economic resilience and sizeable infrastructure investments, its macroeconomic stability, a moderate but rising debt burden and Senegal's comparatively long track record of political stability, the agency said.
