Sempra Energy launches upsized $500 million 10-year notes at 110 bps over Treasuries

Columbus, Ohio, Sept. 19 - Sempra Energy launched an upsized $500 million issue of notes due 2022 (Baa1/BBB+) at Treasuries plus 110 basis points, according to a markets source.

The original issue size was $400 million.

Goldman Sachs & Co., UBS Securities Inc. and RBC Capital Markets LLC are the joint bookrunners.

The company plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes.

The holding company for utility subsidiaries is based in San Diego.
