Seaspan files $300 million shelf registration

Des Moines, Sept. 1 - Seaspan Corp. filed a $300 million shelf registration in an F-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The filing covers common shares and debt securities. The securities may be structured as convertibles.

The proceeds will be used for capital expenditures, repayment of debt, working capital, vessel acquisitions and general corporate purposes.

Seaspan is a Hong Kong company incorporated in the Marshall Islands that owns and charters containerships.
