Moody's rates AT&T notes A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 senior unsecured rating to AT&T Inc.'s senior unsecured notes due in 2040.

The notes will be used to exchange any and all of the outstanding 8.75% senior notes of New Cingular Wireless Services, Inc. due 2031 and, subject to proration, the outstanding 8% senior notes of AT&T Corp. due 2031.
