Sears Holdings sees $47 million operating income for Dec. 2-Jan. 5

Pittsburgh, Jan. 28 – Sears Holdings Corp. reported $47 million of operating income for the period of Dec. 2 through Jan. 5 on $1,111,000,000 in total revenue, according to its monthly operating report filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Those figures showed improvement over the $50 million operating loss posted for the period of Nov. 4 through Dec. 1 on $924 million in total revenue.

The net loss for the December period was $193 million, widening from a $125 million net loss for the previous period.

In addition, the company listed $167 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Jan. 5, down from $179 million at Dec. 1.

Sears is a retailer based in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The company filed bankruptcy on Oct. 15, 2018 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York under Chapter 11 case number 18-23538.
